After a bit of a snafu with the closing dates, the owners of the house we're buying allowed us to keep our moving plans. With the help of our "village" we were able to finish the actual move in just under 3 hours. Including all the crap we had in storage. It was kind of mind blowing. More on that later.
We've spent the last two days digging through boxes, pitching, reminiscing and trying to figure out what the heck we are going to do with all of our books. It's been a lot of standing around and feeling overwhelmed. Not so much thinking about running.
The last run I completed was a 1, 5, 1 on Thursday. 1 mile easy, 5 miles long tempo at 9:28 target pace and finishing with another easy mile. I did it but it was awful. I tried to will myself to hit that time, but I just couldn't do it and ended up with an average pace of 9:39 (which didn't even reflect how bad it was - I pushed the last mile to get it down to just 10 seconds over - it was pathetic).

This morning I wanted to find a reason not to go, but couldn't find one so I set out on a new route. There is a cemetery down the street that offers a beautiful 1.7 (thanks Eric and Yolanda!) which I looped twice. I tried to join a Fourth of July fun run on accident, maybe next year!
And to top it all off, I had a beautiful new place to come home to.
